What is the job about?

Who is a nurse anesthetist and what does he do?

The specialty of anesthesia has changed considerably in recent years, technologically and pharmacologically. Today we can say that this is one of the strongholds of the evolution of surgery over time and nurse anesthetists make an undeniable value in this medium. We think that the nurse anesthetist is a very stressful job at times, but the demand for these professionals has grown over the past few years and they are one of the highly paid professionals in the health care industry. The opportunities to become nurse anesthetists are at your fingertips, you just have to find them, then you’re in the right place to start your successful career.

According to a recent study, patients are not at safe side during treatment when he or she works without the administration of a doctor. Nurse anesthetists look after patients and work under the management of anesthesiologist. He or she helps an anesthesiologist during the surgery to oversee the administration of anesthesia and is also in charge of observing the health condition of post-operative patients. Nurse anesthetists occupy a very caring position, but they are the ones that combine the appropriate concentration of anesthetics, and this requires proper care and skill.

The increased use of nurse anesthetists would help save costs of health care because they generally earn less than anesthesiologists. Nurse anesthetists course as such does not exist, it is included in the subjects of the Degree in Nursing in Universities. We can find different Masters in Nursing Anesthesia as specialized courses within the Graduate Programs and other options for nurse anesthetists included in the curriculum.
